Breathing Grace

Scripture, sanctification, and the life of faith.

There are no asterisks…

“Outside were conflicts. Inside were fears. Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us…”. (2 Cor 7:5b-6a)

I am so thankful we serve a God who provides opportunity for us to learn how to praise Him. He shows us every aspect of who He is if we cleave to Him. Without the outside storms and inside fears, we would never know His capacity to “comfort the downcast.” It’s not that He always calms the storm or takes away the conflict. Instead, He draws us closer… and if we have our eyes fixed appropriately… we are in even more awe of God than before.

Be encouraged!!! God created you with purpose. He created you to cleave to Him; to worship and glorify Him in all things. Conflict and fear does not push Him away, as if they were controlling of Him or He met His match. He’s literally holding out His hand, whispering – “Stay with me. You’re going to make it through this, but you Must lean in, get closer, so you can hear My voice. My voice comforts and guides. Listen.”

God is a truthful God; He never lies. And He has given His sons and daughters promise after promise after promise. If He said it… we must teach our hearts and minds to adopt and rewire accordingly. There are no asterisks in His Words – He DOES what He promises.
